CHILD-FRIENDLY DOVER
Toddlerville is a play centre located at 21 Market Square in the city centre. Owners Jodie and Dominic Morris opened Toddlerville in 2025 after noticing a lack of child-friendly spaces. The centre is proving to be a true community hub and is very popular with parents, who can relax and enjoy a cup of tea while their children explore through play. The business is primarily aimed at children up to the age of six, providing a space where they can truly let their imaginations run wild. Jodie, who has a background in education and childcare, spoke about the feedback they have received: "Everyone has been so lovely and positive. We really hoped for a sense of community, but we never imagined such a reaction. Some people have said, 'This is exactly what Dover needs' or 'This is such a beautiful, family-friendly environment.' We have regulars who have become friends; our children know their children, and that’s a great sign that this is working." Toddlerville is also designed with parents in mind, featuring an open-plan layout where they can sit at tables and watch their children play. The couple is also in talks with local businesses and charities with the aim of hosting community sessions with free tickets for local people; the full details of this initiative are still being finalised.
